Author Guidelines

Dear authors,

 

we ask you to submit all manuscripts in electronic form (by e-mail to the editors).

Please send us your manuscripts both in a text format (doc/docx) and as a PDF to the following editorial address: german.philology@spbu.ru

 

Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Text scope

Your manuscript should be no less than 25,000 and no more than 40,000 characters (including spaces).

Abstract in German and English: 230 – 250 words

Keywords in German and English: 5-7 words

Text formatting

Write your manuscript in Word and:

Use a basic font (Times New Roman 12 pt) for all text

Footnote text: 10 pt

Words, parts of sentences and examples that are highlighted in the running text should be written in italics

Number the pages using the Insert Page Numbers feature

Margin left, right, top, bottom 2 cm

between numbers please a longer dash: 1998-2000

Examples

Please number and italicize the examples.

References in the text

  • are in the main text (not in a footnote) in the form: [Bakhtin 1963], [Bakhtin 1963: 20],
  • several works of the same year and author are indexed alphabetically: [Bakhtin 1963а],

[Bakhtin 1963a: 25].

Alphabet transcriptions

For examples from languages ​​with non-Latin script, please follow the usual conventions for transliteration into the Latin alphabet. Russian quotations, examples and names can be written in Cyrillic or transliterated.

figures and tables

‒ Avoid tables if possible

‒ Please integrate figures and tables into the text (Fig. 1) and number them consecutively (Table 2)

In any case, figures, tables and graphics should also be submitted as separate files. Please also make sure that the font is left-aligned within a table in order to avoid large word gaps.

Author name(s), university name, article title (in German), abstract (in German), keywords (in German), author name(s) (in English), university name, article title (in English) , abstract (in English), keywords (in English), literature, references, authors with details of affiliation and e-mail addresses.

References in the bibliography

The information is to be arranged alphabetically by the name of the first author. If several works by an author are listed, they should be arranged chronologically from the oldest to the newest work (several works from one year with the additions a, b, c, etc.).

  • the publisher and the page number are given for each entry,
  • each entry ends with a period,
  • the abbreviation for "editor" corresponds to the language of the text: in German (ed.), in English and French (eds.),
  • Information from the Internet must be marked “seen on”:
