CONTEXTUAL SYNONYMY IN THE STRUCTURE OF THE POPULAR-SCIENCE ARTICLE

Abstract

This article deals with the contextual synonymy. This type of synonymy is characteristic for the press articles, including the popular-science articles. The features and the correlation of the contextual synonyms from the different parts of article — the
heading, the lead and the main text are of interest. The characteristics of the contextual synonyms in the German popular-science articles are described. Research was done on the material collected from the popular-science site www.wissenschaft.de.
